The shogunate's senior counselor, Sakai Nobunari (Watabiki Katsuhiko), favors Akiko (Mikan Ryou), daughter of Regent Kujō Michifusa, and plots to poison Kaoru (Takeda Kyoko), the candidate supported by shogunate advisor Mizuno Tadakuni (Itō Takao). Kyōshirō encounters Mihoyo (Takeshita Keiko), a woman resembling his late mother, only to discover she is Sakai's spy. He resolves to thwart the poisoning plot. However, Mihoyo becomes a target for both Sakai and Mizuno, leading Kyōshirō to conceal her in Mojizuka's (Ikegami Kimiko) residence. This drama, marking the second series installment featuring Tamura Masakazu as Kyoshiro, showcases an elaborate production style akin to a special effects spectacle.
