55 Speedster Carter WCFB Carb rebuilt.

55 Studebaker Speedster 259 V8 with a 4 barrel Carter WCFB Carb. Now the carb is rebuilt. It was clean looking outside but very scaled and dirty inside from many years of service. Some plugged secondary jets, worn out accelerator pump. Sticking power valve needles. Sticking secondary throttle plate. A loose main accelerator arm on main throttle shaft. I have been chipping away at this old engine to get it running well again. Cleaned fuel tank and lines. Installed new fuel pump and fitted an in line fuel filter. Replaced points and condenser. Did a compression check all good at 110 spot on for 7.5/1 compression ratio. Found 5 &7 plug wires crossed so corrected that issue. Installed new spark plugs. It still has a backfire so further tuning required. New plug wires go on next since they came with the car why not. Could be shorting plug wires. What the hell its 69 years old. It took this long to get this run down so it will take a while to sort it out and rejuevenate it.
