Begun on May 7, 1882, the construction was inaugurated on July 29. Unfortunately, the wooden shelter did not last long, burning down in 1897. On August 24, 1898, a new cabin was inaugurated, along with Deubel's Road, rebuilt during this period. In 1923, a terrible avalanche, started from the gutters of Bucșoi, destroyed the cottage. It was not rebuilt on the same site. The remains of the shelter were carried up into the alpine hollow, being used to build another cabin. In 1924, the same tourist association built the "Mălăiesti House" on the new site, at an altitude of 1,720 meters, at the shelter of Padina Crucii. It was enlarged in the years 1938 - 1939, and in 1967 it was modernized. In its peak years the lodge had about 100 seats in the summer and 50 seats in the winter, in rooms with furrows. Every year the "Floare de Colț" folk festival was held here, and on May 1 the famous ski competition in the Mălăiesti Valley took place. Unfortunately, in March 1998, a fire burned down the building, leaving only the recently built Salvamont Refuge building standing. It seems that everything started from one of the cabin's chimneys, where the ashes ignited. By the time the helpers arrived upstairs, the cabin had completely burned down. Only the memories and an old song remained: "If you come from any direction / Stop at Râșnov / You will find out in a short time / About the Mălăiesti cabin... You want to Omu, go down into the valley / You meet many cabins / But of all the more beautiful/It's the Malayesti cottage". In the following years, the Salvamont Refuge was the only shelter for tourists. Then a new cabin was built. In 2007, the new cottage was commissioned. First a small annex (2006), then the big building. But it didn't last long, and in the spring of 2007 (March 23) a strong storm that left 50 cm of heavy snow in the Mălăiesti Valley destroyed the unconsolidated roof of the shelter. It seems that it was destroyed by the blast of an avalanche that came down from Bucșoiu, in the "Suvoiul Caprelor". Moreover, the entire "La Blide" area was also swept away by heavy avalanches that broke tree trunks. This was one of the biggest avalanches in the last 50 years. The Stănilă family, from Râșnov, created the first generations of cabin owners. The first man who took care of this shelter was Ioan Stănilă (son of a well-known bear hunter), from Râșnov, born in 1846. His sons, three in number, will also be cabin owners in Mălăiesti (Alexe, Ion and Gheorghe). Ioan Stănilă wore long hair and walked all summer in opinci. During the years when he was a lodger, he was the man who accompanied the famous botanist from Brașov, Ranier, through the Bucegi mountains. The first lodger of Mălăiesti died on August 7, 1910, in a mountain accident. He left the cabin, climbing the hill in front of the shelter, to Bucșoiu, where he collapsed looking for wild flowers. He was 64 years old, of which 28 he had been a lodger in Mălăiesti. The current cabin owner from Mălăiesti is part of the same old and traditional Stănilă family. the altitude of 1720 meters facilities: 100 beds in rooms with 3-14 beds -permanently open; permanent presence ensured by mountain rescuers at the Salvamont Refuge (located next to the cabin) -ambiance: happy customers, folk guitar chords
