In today's video I show you how to to make a latex mould and how to use liquid latex. Liquid latex can be used for mouldmaking and in this tutorial I'll show you how to thicken your latex so that it's strong enough for all types of casting. You can use silicone for mouldmaking, but it can be expensive and I find liquid latex to be much easier to use and it tends to be cheaper. But hopefully you now know how to make a latex mould and the basics on how to use liquid latex. Brushes. Cup (or other container). Something to stir with. An object to make a mould of. Steps: ⦾ Place the object you want to make a mould of on a non-porous surface (e.g. plastic, vinyl). ⦾ Pour your latex into a container and use an old brush to apply a thin layer of latex to the mould (remember the flange!).
