In this music production tutorial I’ll show you how to turn a basic 1-bar melodic synth sequence into a 3-minute composition using just a few focused tweaks. The constraint: 1 mono synth, 1 sequence, 1 voice — so no layering, no multitracking, and no chords. That means the whole track is built by developing a single idea through variation, rhythm, dynamics, articulation, and sound design while keeping a minimalist aesthetic. You’ll learn: how to make a single sequence feel more interesting over time how to make one sequence sound bigger using interval choices and register how to create a sense of harmonic progression without chords how to evolve the sequence with subtle modulation + sound design (without losing the minimal vibe) You can follow along with any setup.
