Microsoft Excel Tutorial - Slicers to Filter a Pivot Table. Welcome to the MrExcel Podcast, where we teach you all about Excel and its amazing features. In this episode, we will be discussing Pivot Slicers, a powerful tool that allows you to filter your Pivot Tables with ease. I'm Bill Jelen, and I'm excited to show you how to use this feature to enhance your data analysis. If you've been using Pivot Tables for a while, you may be familiar with the old way of filtering, which involved using the filter next to the Pivot Table. However, this method had its limitations, such as not being able to print multiple selected items on the report. But fear not, because Excel 2010 introduced us to Slicers, a game-changing feature that makes filtering a breeze. To use Slicers, simply go to the Analyze tab and click on "Insert Slicer". You can choose which fields you want to filter by, and the Slicers will appear on your screen. By default, they are tiled in the middle, but you can easily rearrange them to your liking. You can also change the number of columns, size, and color to make them more visually appealing. One of the best things about Slicers is the ability to select multiple items with just a click. This is especially useful for touch screen devices, as you don't have to hold down the control key. And the best part? You can use Slicers with both Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts, making it a great tool for creating dynamic dashboards. In our next episode, we will show you how to connect Slicers to multiple Pivot Tables and Charts for even more powerful data analysis. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and check out our book, which covers everything we discuss in our podcast episodes. Impress your boss with your newfound knowledge of Pivot Slicers and take your data analysis to the next level. Thank you for watching, and we'll see you in the next episode!
