The 2 day re railing proceedure to rescue 395008 "Ben Ainslie" which derailed in November 2024 at Ramsgate. A shunt proceedure that went dratically wrong, resulting in the unit smashing through the buffer stops and travelling a further 6oft becoming to a stand. Signalling cables were damaged but were under the train, so temporary splices had to be done to get operating signals up and running once more. The unit was stuck in loose soft earth and brambles further hindering recovery as well as being next to a main road bridge, eliminating the use of a crane. A task force of multi railway companies were involved in the recovery operation, GBRF, who hired the loco to DB Cargo, DB Rail Recovery Team, Network Rail, DRS, South Eastern, South Eastern High Speed and Quattro plant supplies all played a vital part in making the operation a success.
