The Walrider is without a doubt the most dangerous thing to come out of the Mount Massive mental asylum in the game, Outlast. Created via the experiments performed on the patients of the asylum in the underground laboratories, the Walrider is a seemingly supernatural entity that has a basis in German folklore, however the version of the Walrider that we encounter during the events of the game is very real. The lifework of scientist Rudolf Wernicke, this creature is made up of thousands of nano-machines that have been created through the hosts' own body, and these nano-machines all come together to form this impressive monster.
