My husband (Brian 49) and I (Kelley 41) decided to pull our 3 kids D-Dawson (17), N-Nate (15) & A-Alyssa (12) out of the school system over 4 years ago and ever since we've been living every day as an adventure with life as their classroom and they are thriving. We tried public schools. We tried private school. We tried charter school. We even hired a private teacher to go through a complete boxed curriculum! Nothing seemed to be the right fit for our children. We were so frustrated and we knew we could do much better. We are taking the path of Self Directed Learning, Life Learning, Passion Based Learning, Whole Life Learning & UnSchooling and want to share with you what this looks like for my family. My goal is to share with others our journeys in day to day life of our non-conventional way to raise kids outside of the traditional standardized school system while watching them grow into thriving and highly capable human beings. Kids don't need to be schooled to be educated. Kids need to learn how to think for themselves. Kids need to connect with humans of all ages and learn by connecting with others in the community who have different gifts and talents to share. They need apprenticeships and real world work experience. My goal is to share hope with others that want to take their kids out of the broken school system and show them how easy it is to follow your own path into this very natural approach to learning and living the best Passion Based Life!!
