The Abandoned Village of Palia Vrontou in Northern Greece

Hi everyone. Today we are exploring the abandoned village of Palia Vrontou (Pronounced Vrodou) in northern Greece. It is located at an altitude of 400 metres on the base of Mt Olympus. The village was established around 1700 and was abandoned in 1946 (the only residence now are the cows that graze here). I couldn't find a valid reason for this online, but the village has decayed since that time, with the only preserved structure being the church of Saint Nicolas (Built in 1700 and restored in 1879). It is a beautiful place to hike and is the start of many trials to the peaks of Mt Olympus. I hope you like the video and many thanks for watching.
