Misspelled Stoddard Fall There are upper and lower parking lots. The lower parking lot is very rocky with no asphalt, and a 4-wheel drive vehicle may be needed. HIKE TO: Stoddard Canyon Falls MILES: 1.25 miles (out & back) TIME: 15-20 mins one-way DIFFICULTY: easy ELEVATION: 3,653 ft ELEVATION GAIN/ LOSS: 188 ft HIKE PERMIT: no PARKING PERMIT: yes LOCATION: Angeles National Forest / Mount Baldy Wilderness Preserve / San Gabriel Mountains. The trail is located in the Angeles National Forest, near Mt. Baldy, not in Pasadena. It requires an America the Beautiful Pass or a San Bernardino National Forest Adventure Pass for parking. But for the waterfalls, it is just right in front. The spot we went to is approximately 1 mile from the typical Stoddard Falls that people typically visit.
