Perentie in garden

Perentie lizard patrolling garden looking for food. These are Australias largest monitor lizard growing up to 2 metres in length. They eat all sorts of food such as other lizards, snakes, mice, rabbits, birds and carrion. They have been known to burrow into dead cattle and set up home inside as they have a ready food source and a roof over their head. They are handy to have around the house as they will actively hunt and eat any snakes that they find thus removing the problem of dangerous snakes coming inside. A special mention to Helga in Austria, sorry but still no Bearded dragons. Having Perenties around would mean that the Bearded dragons are on the menu for them. I will keep looking for you though.
