NOBLE JOLLEY, SR. TRIBUTE April 1, 2011 Jazz Appreciation Month, 'Friday Jazz Night" at Westminster church in Washington, DC kicked off with a musical tribute to Noble Jolley, Sr., father of pianist Noble Jolley, Jr. and his twin brother, drummer Nathan Jolley. Noble Levi Jolley, Sr. was a guitarist, composer, music educator, and also an apostolic minister. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Washington, and the first graduate of the newly established jazz studies program at Howard University in 1977. He was a loving and giving husband to his wife Denise and father of 7 offspring. He sacrificed his own musical career aspirations to dedicate himself wholly to his family, and is the source of their continual inspiration as a result. "Amazing Grace" was one of Noble Sr.'s favorites to perform. The tribute performance featured music from the Jolley Brother's new CD, "Memoirs Between Brothers." http://jolleybrothers.com/ The Noble Jolley, Sr. tribute featured; Noble Jolley, Jr. - piano Nathan Jolley - drums Eric Wheeler - bass Herbert Scott - sax Christie Dashiell - vocals Video by E.A.
