【Pls look at the top comment first】In melodic rock history, numerous hidden gems like Peroux have been almost forgotten as they got very few musical works with less promotion when their music came out in the past. Peroux is an ultra less-known band from London, UK, formed by five members. In 1988, the band recorded an EP album including only 4 tracks on the form of vinyl. Due to less promotion, their musical works didn't attract much public attention and become the hidden gems. The EP album was on the label Powerplay Records, which is based in London. In melodic rock industry, the label seems to be unknown, which may focus more on other music genres. Peroux's 4 tracks in the EP sound like demos featuring weak sounds, but musically, the songs were amazingly written. Preciously in 2013, this hidden album was re-released by Steelheart Memories. The label is based in Italy and mainly focuses on album re-issuing since 2010s. For loyal melodic rock fans, I think there are the series of albums called "The Lost UK Jewels" may have left deep impression. The series feature the re-issuing of many demo recordings and some unreleased musical works by the hidden British and Irish hard/melodic rock artists. "Wheels Keep Turnin'" from Peroux was the Vol.2 of the series. Apart from the four tracks in their 1988 EP album, this time the re-released version was added five tracks, which include one unreleased track and some demos originally recorded in 1988. Still, the re-issued version (2013) is very precious. On the form of CD, this album was released with very limited copies. As a decent aor band featuring the five-piece line-up with the keyboardist, Peroux's music sounds bright and enriched. Here the song "Susannah" was originally included in the 1988 EP vinyl. With both pure aor and somewhat solid aor tunes, I highly recommend "Summertime Memories", "Midnight Princess" and "Wheels Keep Turnin'", but I cannot distinguish the difference between the three songs's original EP versions and the demo versions, which sound the same. Besides, don't miss the newly included song "Lost Love", which was unreleased before. "Wheels Keep Turnin'" is a great album, which once was promoted and recommended by British legend Shy. Apart from The "Lost UK Jewels" series, Steelheart Memories also released The "Lost US Jewels" series to let more invaluable hidden gems heard by melodic rock lovers. #MelodicRock #aor #Peroux
