Greetings from the Kids of Kolahun!

To learn more about our program, and to help support the vulnerable kids of Kolahun, through RESTORE HOPE—LIBERIA, please go to: http://www.restorehopeliberia.org/ In 2013, Dr. Barbara and I returned to visit Kolahun Hospital in Lofa County, Liberia, where we had each served a year providing medical humanitarian assistance, more than 5 years before. A visit to a local school revealed all the promise and hope for the future as Liberia continued to recover from 14 years of civil war. In 2014-15, this community, and hundreds of communities like it across West Africa, especially Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, were devastated by the largest and most deadly outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease ever seen. The schools were closed and many of these kids have been affected by Ebola, either directly with illness, or through the loss of parents and other family. Sometimes entire families have been lost. In 2015, a local, community-based and operated, non-profit humanitarian organization expanded its program of assistance to the vulnerable children of Kolahun. The RESTORE HOPE--LIBERIA program offers health and nutritional support, education, and future livelihood training and scholarship support to 75 of the kids most affected by Ebola and other illness. RESTORE HOPE--LIBERIA needs your help. No gift, whether $5, $10, $25 or more is too small. An American-based, non-profit global health support fund, the LIBERIA FUND at the TIDES Foundation has been established to send needed funds to Liberia. Dr. Bob and Dr. Barbara and others with extensive humanitarian experience will continue to advise and support this effort. Your tax-deductible gift of financial support will be most appreciated! 90% of these funds will be sent to Liberia for activities benefiting the kids, the beneficiaries directly.
