Join us on an epic adventure along the Ancient Tea Horse Road — often called the Silk Road of the South — a historic trade route that once carried tea from Yunnan to Tibet in exchange for horses! We’ve been hitchhiking through remote areas, hiking across rugged mountains, passing through ancient cities, camping wild in China’s untamed wilderness, and meeting incredible locals along the way in beautiful Yunnan province. Our ultimate destination? Legendary Shangri-La! But right now, we’re standing at the foot of one of China’s most dramatic natural wonders: Tiger Leaping Gorge — the deepest river canyon in the world, with jaw-dropping views of towering peaks and the roaring Jinsha River below. Today, we have two big challenges ahead: 1. Wild camping somewhere along the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge trail under the stars. 2. Hiking the full classic route — starting from Qiaotou village and pushing all the way to the end through steep switchbacks, stunning viewpoints, and remote mountain paths. We’ve got all our camping gear packed and ready… but there’s one massive problem: we have ZERO water and almost no food left! No resupply spots in sight on this section. Can we push through the thirst, hunger, and exhaustion to complete the hike and find a safe spot to camp? Or will we have to turn back? Watch the full video to find out if we make it — and see the raw, real challenges (and incredible beauty) of following this ancient path!
