Tune in at 2 pm on facebook.com/nolajazzmuseum/live to watch for free. Adonis Rose Adonis Rose is a Grammy-award winning artist, composer, educator, and producer from the city of New Orleans, LA. He has played and recorded with the biggest names in Jazz, including Terence Blanchard, Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves, Marcus Roberts, Harry Connick, Jr., and Wynton Marsalis, and has performed on the most renowned stages in the world such as Carnegie Hall, Olympia in Paris, North Sea Jazz Festival, Umbria, Birdland, Apollo Theater, Newport Jazz Festival, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, to name a few. Rose has over fifty recordings to his credit (five as a leader), including six with longtime friend, trumpeter Nicholas Payton. In 2010, he won a Grammy Award with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra for Best Large Ensemble. In January 2017, Rose was named the Artistic Director of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) and led the eighteen-piece orchestra to its first concert season in October of that year that featured world-renowned artists Sheila E, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ledisi, Slick Rick, and Eric Benet. In 2019, Rose produced NOJO's most recent recording Songs: the music of Allen Toussaint on the legendary Storyville Records imprint, which received rave reviews. He is currently working on several new recordings with the orchestra and his own ensembles and continues to tour, perform, and produce a range of projects. Gabrielle Cavassa Gabrielle Cavassa is a New Orleans-based, California-born, vocalist-composer of Italian descent who continues to garner attention for her distinctive voice and intimate expression. In 2021, Cavassa was crowned co-winner of the 2021 International Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition, joining the ranks of previous winners such as Cyrille Aimée, Jazzmeia Horn, and Samara Joy.Cavassa became acquainted with the music at a young age, when she began collecting, cataloguing and “obsessively listening” to records. Her expression reflects influences ranging from Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse to Slum Village and Italian opera. As a songwriter, she confronts challenging topics as though she’s sharing stark, intimate diary entries with the world. Her 2020 critically-acclaimed recording debut, Gabrielle Cavassa, co-produced by GRAMMY-nominated artist and collaborator Jamison Ross, includes features from fellow genre bending artists Braxton Cook and Ashlin Parker. Cavassa is set to release a duo record with pianist Ryan Hanseler in 2022. John Michael Bradford John Michael Bradford is a trumpeter, singer, bandleader, composer, arranger and educator whose passion for music has been sculpted by the spirit, sounds, and fate of his hometown, New Orleans. John Michael has been mentored by and performed professionally with many renowned artists including Jon Batiste, Herbie Hancock, Leo Nocentelli, Leslie Odom Jr., Harry Connick, Dumpstaphunk . His discography includes recordings with the likes of Donald Harrison, Sam Williams of Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Rickie Monie of Preservation Hall, and Leo Nocentelli of the Funky Meters. He has headlined in performance halls across the world from The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to The Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. John Michael has since returned to New Orleans where he is working towards a Masters in Performance of Black American Music at Tulane University. Following in the footsteps of his earliest mentors, Bradford is helping to craft the sounds of young musicians, teaching music at his alma maters The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage School. Bradford recognizes the value and joy in contributing to the community of musicians that raised him. Though John Michael’s performance and composition traverses various genres and styles, all of his work is deeply rooted in the identity of his hometown, New Orleans. Ricardo Pascal Ricardo Pascal has worked professionally as a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator for 15 years. As an artist heavily rooted in the jazz tradition…
