Kalle Wiman together with Jonas Karlsson help with the lyrics, and the composition of the song, Erik Björklund on Solo Guitar and Henrik Thomsson on rhythm guitar, have done an amazing job on this song. The Saga of Volund also known as Völundr or Wayland the Smith in Norse and Germanic mythology, is renowned for his unmatched crafting skills and brutal revenge. Volund is basically the Super Hero of the old. The Saga of Volund is known throughout the whole northern countries, starting in Iceland following the coast of the north pole all the way to Finland and down to Germany, even as far as to the country Greece. Volund is legendary on the island of Gotland, where Kalle and his band members are from. In circa 1900 a large rune stone was found buried under Arde Church while it was doing a restoration, and on the rune stone, is where the saga of Volund is inscribed. The tale of Volund's Revenge is told in so many different versions, but the most common tale is that Volund get punished by the God's (the God Thor in this video) and is forced to live with the humans. In this tale that Kalle Wiman and Jonas Karlsson wrote, the reason why Volund gets punished is because of Volund become very angry with Thor, when Thor choose the magical Hammer that the dwarves forged instead of the flaming sword that Volund forged, as his powerful weapon. The dwarves lives and have their forge under the tree known as Yggdrasil, the tree of life. Some stories says that it was the dwarves that taught Volund how to forge. When Volund is sent to earth to live, King Niöhad captures Volund, orders Volund to be hamstring to prevent escape, while he forges treasures for the King on an island. (Which the natives of Gotland believes, it's their island which Volund arrived to). Volund marries a Valkyrie named Hervör alvitr (a swan maiden). In some stories she leaves him and in others she dies in a war which Thor order her to join. Volund take a gruesome revenge against the King Niöhad, by murdering his son's and makes jewelry from their bones, and drinking cups from their heads. He continues his revenge by raping the King's daughter, and escapes the island by forging metal wings and is never seen again, but in this video, Volund fly to Valhalla and confronts Thor in a battle to take his vengeance on him for not choosing his flaming sword and for being part of Hervör's death. Being the first time of creating a whole video with AI and only had 4 minutes to tell the story, I had to create my own version and puzzling it together by following the lyrics of the song. I did not want to spend the time murdering the son's, skin them and then create jewelry of their bones😜, I decided to do a romantic version of the love between Volund and Hervör, and have the King take the blame of her being sent away back to Thor. This video is completely made by AI and my imagination. It is not real, it's only a tale of an old legend from days long gone.
