Unlocking Shoulder Stability: The Power of Lower Traps

Suffering with shoulder pain? Is your shoulder pain becoming chronic? Shoulder pain and injury is often associated with lack of shoulder stability. A key muscle to improving your shoulder stability is the lower trapezius. The lower trap is important in assisting scapulae (shoulder blade) movement and stability. Activating the lower trap and strengthening it isn't always easy. On today's video, I demonstrate 2 different exercises on how to train the lower trapezius. 1. From a dead hang, shrug the body up and hold for 2 seconds. Perform 10-12 reps for 3 sets. 2. Standing "Y" contractions with an exercise band. Attach a resistance band in front of you onto something solid. Hold the arms up in a "Y" position. Pull the arms back and hold for 5 seconds. Perform this 5 times.
