Having seen how they do it in the Midlands    • ALL THE ACTION from the Friday at the MIDL...   today we catch all the action from the English Riviera Airshow! We begin at Exeter Airport, where a good portion of the display acts were temporarily based for the weekend, between their display slots. We see the magnificent Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster B1 Bomber PA474 ‘Leader/City of Lincoln’ parked up at the front of Exeter Airport ahead of her display this afternoon. This was a particularly significant weekend for the Lancaster, not only marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day this year and the BBMF's first displays of 2025, as yesterday marked 80 years since she rolled off the production line, and between her display commitments at Ragley Hall and Torbay, this iconic aircraft returned home to Hawarden on Saturday to the very site where she was built in 1945, at what is now the Airbus wing factory in Broughton, North Wales. After leaving there to display the Midlands Air Festival and parting with the Spitfires yesterday which came into Kemble for fuel    • HIGHLIGHTS from COTSWOLD AIRPORT VINTAGE F...   the Lancaster based overnight at Exeter which allowed for some great shots of her this morning, a living tribute to those brave men and women who served during World War II! We also head round to Car Park 4 at Exeter Airport for a better view of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team The Red Arrows, parked up and being prepared for their Midday display slot to open the Sunday of the English Riviera Airshow, as well as other display aircraft parked around the airport before Red 10 departs and we head down to Torbay. At Goodrington Sands, we see 75014 ‘Braveheart’ in steam on the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway services, and we explore some of the many stalls on Paignton Green before the Red Arrows get the airshow underway, with another high energy performance, before the other acts follow, including Rich Goodwin in his Muscle Pitts, the Taranto formation of the Navy Wings Fairey Swordfish and Royal Navy Wildcat, the Silver Spitfire G-IRTY which toured the world in 2019, and many more with the RAF Typhoon Display Team bringing the noise to close todays show!
