1912 Fairbanks - Morse 15 HP Hit And Miss Engine And Two Stamp Mill Demonstration

This video takes us to the Laws Railroad Museum And Historic Site, 4.5 miles north of Bishop, California. We visited on 5-3-2018 and talked with Ron Morefield for at least two hours about engines and other equipment he works on and maintains there. He started the 1912 Fairbanks-Morse 15 horsepower hit and miss engine that is on display and is hooked up to a two stamp mill that is partially functioning. He ran the engine for several minutes, and he ran the mill for a few minutes, as well. He talked about the mechanical operation of the engine and the history of it's uses. The small crowd enjoyed his demonstration very much and appreciated his knowledge of the machinery.
