Darband, once a village near Tajrish in Shemiran, is now a neighborhood within Tehran's city limits. It's the starting point for a popular hiking trail up Mount Tochal, which overlooks Tehran. For those who prefer not to hike, there's a chairlift available. Three kilometers uphill from Tajrish Square, the road transforms into a path winding through a narrow, rocky valley with cascading water. The trail leads into the hills, passing by a charming series of teahouses, restaurants, and fruit-conserve stalls. It's one of the most relaxing spots in Tehran to enjoy tea and a hookah, offering a mountain village atmosphere. The initial 250 meters of the trail at Darband are lined with small cafes and restaurants. These spots are quite popular and busy in the evenings, as both locals and tourists frequent the many hookah lounges along the trail.
