The 92nd annual Kilgore Christmas Parade, held right here in the heart of East Texas, provided nothing short of a yuletide marvel. The East Texas Regional Airport in Longview reported temperatures in the upper to mid forties, as fair skies and Christmas lights cast a glow over the festivities. As I stood just 75 feet north of the announcer, perched on a trailer that spanned Main Street, the parade, orchestrated by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, rolled in from the south, enchanting the crowd along Kilgore Street. The journey paused late in the procession–however, those moments were edited to preserve the pure essence of this heartwarming event. From the kickoff at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, until the finale around 8 pm, this Kilgore Christmas Parade etched joyous memories in the hearts of those gathered.
