2004 Volvo XC90 Gear Shifter Stuck - Removal And Repair - Will not shift into or out of Park

This happened when I got home, and I could not put my XC90 into park. I ended up leaving it in neutral and putting my batter on a charger until I got the broken shifter to work temporarily and allowed me to shift into park. Once I found the problem, and replaced the broken part...all is good. I hope this helps someone out there! Take note, I did not have any DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) present, if you experience the same problem, check to ensure your Volvo is not storing any DTC codes. Luckily for me, it was a mechanical problem and not an electrical :-)
