Rainy day coastal hike from Seamill to Portencross Castle - With relaxing piano music | Scotland

Walking the coast from Seamill to Portencross Castle in North Ayrshire on a drizzly November day.. This hike took me from Seamill along the coast towards Portencross Castle in North Ayrshire. The conditions were damp and overcast, with steady drizzle across the Firth of Clyde. Walking along the sand, I noticed how the surface felt firm underfoot after the rain and how the shoreline looked muted in the grey light. Despite the wet conditions, it was a quiet and steady walk. As I made progress along the coast, Portencross Castle came into view. The rain had darkened its stone walls and it stood out against the grey sky. Seeing the castle appear gradually as I approached was one of the highlights of the walk. The atmosphere of the place felt very different compared with visiting on a bright day, and the weather added to the sense of history in the landscape. For the return journey I took the inland path that passed by West Kilbride Golf Club. This part of the route gave me a change from the shoreline, with open fairways and fields beside the track. The grass was still damp from the rain but it made the walk varied and linked back to the coast near Seamill. Although I ended the walk a little wet, the hike was worthwhile. It gave me the chance to experience the Ayrshire coast in late autumn under different conditions.
