The IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) and the IUCN Citizen Science Task Force presents you the webinar "Citizen Science in Action: Advancing IUCN’s Vision Through Motion 126" ahead of IUCN World Conservation Congress where Meg Beckel, MBA, ICD D. (Co-Chair, IUCN CEC Nature Communications), Alison Ormsby (Forest Specialist, Adventure Scientists) and Anukriti Sharma (The Naturalist School) talks about how people-powered science can help support IUCN’s global mission and how IUCN members can help by voting for Motion 126. Citizen science is a powerful tool for generating inclusive, scalable data to guide effective conservation. Motion 126, the first-ever IUCN motion focused on citizen science, recognizes its role in democratizing science, promoting equitable data access and fostering community resilience - while calling for its integration to address critical data gaps and strengthen conservation outcomes. This session was conducted on August 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM (Eastern Time, USA) / 7:30 PM (India) on Zoom (More info - / urn:li:activity:7360671298609401856 .
