The British Crown is facing tough questions over Prince Andrew’s controversial Royal Lodge lease. The U.K. Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has written to the Crown Estate and Treasury, demanding an explanation for the costs and lease terms surrounding Andrew’s 30-room Windsor mansion. “There is considerable and understandable public interest in the spending of public money in relation to Prince Andrew,” the PAC chair said in a letter, noting that the Duke is no longer a working royal and remains embroiled in Epstein-related controversies. The PAC wants answers by November 28, questioning if any renovation or maintenance work was funded by taxpayer money. Prince Andrew, who gave up his royal title amid the Epstein scandal, took a 75-year lease on the Royal Lodge in 2003, reportedly paying £5 million upfront for renovations, plus £2.5 million rent and £1 million premium.
