Today, we explore Fables! Learners will discover that every story has a "knot" to untie (the Problem) and a way to fix it (the Solution). We will practice retelling these classic tales in our own words and learn how to use polite greetings to navigate different social situations with kindness. Topics Covered: High-Frequency Words: Strengthening reading accuracy for Grade 3 level sight words. Common Expressions & Polite Greetings: Role-playing how to speak politely to elders, teachers, and peers. Problem and Solution: Analyzing the conflict in a story and how the characters resolve it. Retelling Fables: Summarizing short stories that teach a moral lesson using original sentences. Examples: Polite Greetings: * "Good afternoon, Po, Teacher!" (To an elder/teacher) "May I borrow your pencil, please?" (To a classmate) Problem & Solution in a Fable: Problem: The thirsty crow could not reach the water at the bottom of the pitcher. Solution: The crow dropped pebbles into the pitcher until the water rose to the top. Retelling: Instead of memorizing, we say: "The story was about a slow tortoise who beat a fast hare because he never gave up." 🎯 Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to: ✔ Identify high-frequency words accurately in a text. ✔ Use common expressions and polite greetings appropriate to a given situation. ✔ Identify the problem and solution in various stories and fables. ✔ Use their own words to retell a fable effectively. ⏰ Timecodes: 0:00 - Introduction & Learning Objectives 1:30 - High-Frequency Word Drill 3:15 - Polite Greetings: What should you say? 5:45 - Understanding Fables: Stories with Morals 8:20 - Skill Spotlight: Identifying Problem and Solution 11:00 - Guided Practice: Retelling a Fable in your own words 13:45 - Quiz & Wrap-up 👩–🏫 Teacher JA 📣 Like, share, and subscribe for more Grade 3 English lessons aligned with the MATATAG Curriculum. #Grade3English #MATATAGCurriculum #Q4Week1Day2 #SentencesVsNonSentences #RootWords #NationalThemes #VocabularyBuilding #DepEdMATATAG #ElementaryEnglish #NationalPride
