Sears' Best (Emerson) 20" Whole House Window Fan

What you're looking at here is a Sears' Best 20" deluxe 3 speed whole house window fan model #34.9024, manufactured May 5, 1982. This is the model of window fan that has the insanely deep pitched blade and massive Emerson K55 motor inside. This fan was made by Emerson Electric and labeled for sale through Sears, Roebuck & Co. You might be saying "Huh, I thought these were made by Vernco." Well, yes and no. In 1979, Vernco was acquired by Emerson Electric who continued making many of the old Vernco designs under their own name and also under the Sears name until 1985 when they sold the portable fan division to Robeson, which is when I believe Lasko acquired the tooling to manufacture the blades found on this fan, and subsequently introduced a 20" whole house window fan of their own which used the same blade as this fan.
