On January 29, 2013, SCAT Airlines Flight 760 was traveling on a domestic route from Kokshetau to Almaty, Kazakhstan. The flight crew consisted of: • Captain: Vladimir Nikolaevich Evdokimov • First Officer: Alexander Vladimirovich Sharapov • Trainee / Jumpseat Pilot: Svyatoslav Arturovich Babayan While on its final approach to Almaty Airport, the aircraft crashed approximately 5 kilometers from the runway in adverse weather conditions, including fog and poor visibility. All 21 people on board, consisting of 16 passengers and 5 crew members, lost their lives. The investigation attributed the accident to pilot error during descent in challenging weather, exacerbated by possible lapses in crew coordination and situational awareness. The incident remains one of the deadliest aviation disasters in Kazakhstan's history and highlights the critical importance of training and adherence to procedures in adverse weather conditions.
