When Kelly was 8 months pregnant she started getting symptoms including constipation, appetite changes, fatigue and blood in her stool. But her symptoms were repeatedly dismissed by doctors as pregnancy and postpartum changes. After nearly a year of advocating for herself, she finally got a colonoscopy that revealed a large tumor and was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. Rather than move forward with the planned chemo, radiation and surgery, Kelly was able to join an early clinical trial for an experimental new drug called dostarlimab.
