As Jitong practitioners consecutively complete their piercing, the crowd erupts in cheers, and the rhythm accelerates. The majority of Jitong practitioners have now finished their body piercing, adorned in magnificent attire, and they gather at the Temple of the Nine Emperor Gods beneath its towering archway, the largest in Malaysia. The most exhilarating moment arrives as the gates swing open. Led by two women wielding brooms, symbolizing the clearing of the path, the procession is ready to embark.
