LIVE: Minneapolis reveals new police reform plan after George Floyd's murder

Minneapolis City Council and Mayor Jacob Frey announced Friday that they had approved a court-enforceable settlement agreement with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights following the 2020 murder of George Floyd. The agreement includes changes to the Minneapolis Police Department. "The settlement agreement lays out a road map for achieving non-discriminatory policing and to better support community safety in Minneapolis. It includes many requirements that are already consistent with current MPD policies and reform measures. The agreement has a four-year term and may then be reviewed on an annual basis until compliance is met," read a news release announcing the settlement.
