Artocarpus camansi, commonly known as breadnut, is a tropical tree species in the Moraceae family. As the wild ancestor of the breadfruit (A. altilis), it is primarily distinguished by its abundant, edible, chestnut-like seeds. The tree is fast-growing, reaching up to 35m, and is cultivated in tropical regions. Both the flesh and seeds are edible. The seeds are highly nutritious, containing 13.3–19.9% protein and are a good source of potassium and niacin. They are often boiled or roasted and have a nutty flavor.
