The Taber® type Stiffness Tester is used to measure the stiffness of paper boards and duplex boards. A physical characteristic of paperboard which differentiates it from paper is its greater flexural rigidity, commonly called stiffness. In other words, Stiffness is the ability to bend or resist bending. It is the resistance the sample offers on being bent at 7.5° and 15° Degrees. High stiffness boards lead to rigid and better formed cartons. Stiffness Tester Taber Type is used for evaluating stiffness & resilient qualities of Paper, Plastics, Cardboard, Light metallic sheets, Foil & other flexible material having comparatively strong bending resistance. One end of the test piece is easily fastened into the clamp. the max force required to bend the test piece to a specified angle is presented on the graduated scale.
