In this video, 555004 performs a reset after a dispatch camera failure. A CST on the platform had explained its related to the old trains causing power problems for the 555s. My guess is that the old trains are causing some kind of power instability which is shorting out the cameras but that isn't a definitive answer and he reckons that if the old trains weren't the case, the 555s would handle operation a lot better. Fun fact: The 555 in this video is running Linux kernel 4.19.0-13 amd64 which you can see on the screen as it boots up, however, it could just be that the kernel is the underlying software for the screens only. Based on its behaviour syncing up with the rest of the train, I would assume the entire train is based on this one central piece of software. 0:00 Train at Monument 0:30 Passengers kicked off 1:03 Train loses power 2:30 Staff explanation 3:45 Announcement - Train is ready 3:50 Funny announcement 4:40 Departs Monument Captured on the Tyne and Wear Metro in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK on 28/03/2025 from 10:04PM to 10:17PM on Google Pixel 8.
