Are you planning your 100 Day Project and wondering what to create? In this week’s Monday Marks Vlog, I’m sharing how I’m approaching my fourth year of the 100 Day Project — and why this year is different. Instead of setting an overly ambitious goal, I’m focusing on producing 100 original mixed media greeting cards that I’ll be selling during my artist residency at Great Camp Sagamore in the Adirondacks. Each 5" x 6.5" card will feature collage and paint inspired by the iconic Vanderbilt camp structures, Adirondack flora and fauna, and surrounding landscapes. In this video, I break down how to decide whether your 100 Day Project should be about play, practice, or production — and I demonstrate how I use hand-painted papers, repetition, simple mark making, and consistent layouts to keep a large series cohesive and achievable. If you’re a mixed media artist looking to build a daily art habit, work in multiples, or create sellable artwork from a long-form art challenge, this episode will give you a clear strategy to begin. A list of all materials and tools can be found on my website under the Monday Marks Vlog. Never miss a thing — Subscribe to my bi-weekly newsletter at www.SharonLCiccone.com where I share art prompts and concepts like these, art strategies, and questions to get you thinking about your own play, practice, and process. If you are a mixed media artist and would like to go deeper into your own practice and process, you can join my monthly membership for artists The Paste and Paper Playground, where we go in depth into different mediums, strategies, and concepts to take your artwork to the next level alongside a community of artists and with me for two live sessions each month.
