The 77th Republic Day was celebrated by Tiruchchirappalli Division with patriotic fervour. Shri Balak Ram Negi, Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchchirappalli Division (DRM/TPJ), unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the ceremonial parade presented by the contingents of the Railway Protection Force. Shri Prashant Yadav, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF/Tiruchchirappalli Division, headed the event. Shri K. M. Sathiyia Rathan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, along with other senior officials, attended the event held at the Railway Stadium, Kallukuzhi, Tiruchchirappalli. While addressing the gathering, the DRM/TPJ stated that it was a great privilege and matter of pride to celebrate the 77th Republic Day and extended his greetings to all. He highlighted the achievements of Tiruchchirappalli Division (TPJ) for the ongoing financial year, from 01.04.2025 to 31.12.2025. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) team of Tiruchchirappalli Division conducted an extraordinary display of talent and skills during a vibrant cultural event held earlier today. The event captivated audiences with an array of thrilling performances and cultural showcases, highlighting the expertise and versatility of the RPF team. A major highlight of the event was the Bullet Bike Stunts, during which RPF personnel demonstrated remarkable precision, agility, and breathtaking skills. The stunts included driving the Bullet motorcycle in sitting position, butterfly position, hiding position, two-legs-raising position, sleeping position, performing yoga (Padmasana and Vajrasana), drinking tea with cup and saucer, cross-leg standing position, back-foot-rest standing position, sitting on the headlight position, and a joker performance while riding—leaving the audience in awe of their impeccable coordination and expertise. Adding to the excitement, the RPF’s canine heroes, Rocky and Lucky, took centre stage with their commendable performances in a variety of activities that showcased their advanced training and obedience. Before the conclusion of the event, Shri Balak Ram Negi, DRM/TPJ, Smt. Sonalika Negi, President, Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organistation, Shri K. M. Sathiyia Rathan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Shri B. Chandrasekaran, Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti, Dr. Vijayalakshmi R. Natarajan, Chief Medical Superintendent, and other branch officers distributed prizes to the staff who emerged victorious in the Athletics Sports Meet held on 22.01.2026 and 23.01.2026 in connection with the Republic Day celebrations. The Overall Championship Trophy for the Athletics Sports Meet was handed over by the DRM/TPJ to Shri P. Nandalal, Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination), along with the officers and staff of the Engineering Branch. At the conclusion of the event, Shri Balak Ram Negi, Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchchirappalli Division, announced a group cash award of Rs. 1,02,500/- to the RPF contingents, Dog Squad, Bullet Squad, Cultural Team, and Engineering Branch for their spectacular arrangements, and also to the Southern Railway Sports Association of Tiruchchirappalli Division, in appreciation of their contributions.
