The death toll from bombings rose by one to 201, the Interior Ministry said Monday. Several dozen people remain hospitalized including 19 in critical condition, Spanish news media reported on Monday. Ce;ebrations by supporters of Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, whose Socialist party won Spain''s general elections, following the bomb attacks in Madrid, which have been held as being responsible for Zapatero''s surprise victory. His Socialist Party had trailed the ruling conservatives throughout the campaign. But everything changed after bombs tore through rush-hour trains on Thursday. Protesters who thronged to the conservative Popular Party''s offices just hours before voting opened on Sunday said Spain had been targeted by terrorists because of Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar''s support for the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
