The Minority in Parliament has boycotted a scheduled meeting with Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, describing the move as a strong signal of their dissatisfaction with the processes leading to his appointment. Addressing the media, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin also issued a stern warning to the Majority, vowing that the opposition will resist any attempt by the government to rush bills through Parliament under a certificate of urgency when the House resumes. He says the Minority is prepared to “match the Majority boot for boot” on the floor of the House this year. The Minority further takes on the Bank of Ghana and the Ghana Gold Board over what they describe as a 214-million-dollar financial loss to the state under the Gold for Reserves programme. They insist the recent turnaround in Ghana’s economy is not the doing of the Mahama administration but is largely driven by external factors. In this edition of Top Story on Joy 99.7 FM, host Samuel Kojo Brace brings you details from Parliament, reactions from the Minority, and in-studio analysis with James, including concerns over the anti-LGBTQI bill and the Chief Justice’s ongoing nationwide tour. Stay tuned for the full breakdown and exclusive parliamentary insights. #NewsNight #MyJoyOnline #JoyNews https://www.myjoyonline.com/ghana-news/ Subscribe for more videos just like this: / @myjoyonline Follow us on: Facebook: / joy997fm Twitter: / joy997fm Instagram: https://bit.ly/3J2l57
