Day 8 of our #100SealsForTime campaign: Naude and Antoine went on their daily seal patrol for our non profit organisation Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN) along the Skeleton Coast and they came across an unusal case. This female had a standard commercial fishing line wrapped around her flippers. It had cut so deep, she was barely able to move. It must have caused her immense pain. She was fierce and put up a good fight, until Antoine managed to catch her with our custom build seal net. While Antoine immobilized her, Naude used the hook from our Leatherman Tool to free the seal from her entanglement. As soon as she was free, she waddled back into the water towards Walvis Bay or Swakopmund.
