Hello Planty Friends, So excited for this plant! Received from a plant swap and she was quite pathetic looking...but wouldn't we all be if ripped from our roots and cut up into little pieces? I didn't swap anything for this plant as it was at the end and if you've ever been to a swap you'll know at the end there's the people just trying to get away with less than they came with. I am not that person. I will take all the plants and pot them up together or run experiments for my youtube channel. I'm doing it for you!! HAhahah Generally reporting on the care of this plant, please remember that the following comes directly from my personal experience, in the environment I provide, and under all my whims. EPIPREMNUM AMPLISSIMUM SILVER STREAK (STRIPE?) AKA: Silver Streak Pothos NATIVE TO: Southeast Asia. GROWTH HABIT: Climber / Viner GROWTH RATE: Slow MAINTENANCE: Water and adore. DIFFICULTY: Not difficult. Enjoys having something to climb on and depending on your choices can increase the difficulty. TOXICITY: Oh YES. LIGHTING: Bright, indirect. In the winter she receives direct sun for a few hours when it is out in the PNW. TEMPERATURE: Ambient household, would probably grow faster if given an extra 5-15 degrees consistently HUMIDITY: Ambient household, would probably grow faster if given 5-15% more consistently. WATERING: roughly every two weeks PROPAGATION: node stem cuttings UPDATE BEFORE POSTING January 2025: that large plant on the right is still dominating and the other two are carrying right along. No dramas to share or changes as of yet. I am thinking about what I am going to do when it gets to the top of this sheet though. Looks like we'll be seeing this guy again in 2025!! MY PLANT CARE STYLE No misting No watering schedule. Bottom waterer most of the time. Tap water, treated with conditioner and liquid fertilizer Use the app, Planta, to keep track of individuals Month on / Month off mosquito bits Fertilize every watering @ 50% of recommended dosage. Cabinet doors are open throughout the day Every three to four months, everybody gets cleaned with a solution of water, neem oil, and Dr. Bronner's peppermint castile soap. Every three to four months, everybody in soil receives Bonide Systemic Granules for insect control Every four weeks, beneficial bugs (cucumeris) are placed on known pest magnet plants Current Plant Count: 331 Does not include propagations or multiple plants in one pot.
