Sunday, 14th December 2025 1. Delight in the Lord and His Law “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalms 1:2 A believer who delights in the Lord is motivated, strengthened, and encouraged by the law of the Lord. “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 The prosperity of a believer begins with what they delight in. When a Christian delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on it day and night, the result is clear: whatever they do prospers. What are you delighting in? What truly pulls the strings of your heart? A person reveals their delight not only in words but by actions. David’s delight was found in going to the house of the Lord. He said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” Psalms 122:1 One of the reasons we lack strong witnesses in the body of Christ today is that our delight is divided. But scripture tells us: “Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.” Psalms 112:1 The Lord's commandments—His divine instructions—are His marching orders. As we delight in the Lord, He releases the desires of our hearts. The fulfilment of godly desires brings life, and this becomes possible only when we delight ourselves in the Lord: “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken… but thou shalt be called Hephzibah.” Isaiah 62:4 Hephzibah means “My delight is in her.” We are called to delight in the Lord because we are His delight. And if we are His delight, then our lives must bring Him pleasure. 2. Delight in the Ways of the Lord “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalms 37:23 The ordering of a man’s steps is a result of delighting in the ways of the Lord. The way of the Lord is the pathway of destiny. “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself…” Jeremiah 10:23 God expects every believer to find pleasure in following Him. Anyone who does God’s will in God’s way and timing will never lack divine resources. 3. Delight in the Will of God “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself… but when thou shalt be old… another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.” John 21:18 When was the last time you truly allowed yourself to be led and guided by the Holy Spirit? Jesus delighted in the Father's will. He prayed that not His will but the Father's will be done. His will had to give way to God’s will—an act that was only possible through surrender and death to self. (Luke 22:42) The will of God must be everything a believer lives for. It defines and empowers us. Once you apprehend the will of God, remain there. 4. Delight in the Abundance “But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalms 37:11 You cannot experience abundance if you do not understand what it means to delight in abundance. There will be seasons of lack in life, but that is never God’s final destination for His people. Abundance is entered through faith—by believing that God has called you into it. When you delight in abundance, God brings you into it and establishes you there. Further Study Psalms 37:4–5 Luke 22:42 Romans 12:2 Psalms 40:8 STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED. WE LOVE YOU.
