Sadhu Mirandal is a 1966 Tamil-language crime , directed by the duo Thirumalai–Mahalingam. The film was produced and written by A. Bhimsingh, drawing inspiration from a real-life incident in which a bank official was killed for money by three individuals in a moving car. It features Nagesh and T. R. Ramachandran in leading roles. Released on 14 April 1966, the film achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success, and was later remade in Hindi by Bhimsingh as Sadhu Aur Shaitaan (1969). In this video, we will take a journey back in time to explore how Chennai—then known as Madras—looked in the late 1960s. Using scenes from the film, we will revisit the city’s streets, architecture, and atmosphere of that era, while also discovering the history of several iconic buildings and landmark locations that shaped the identity of Madras.
