Town Hall - Saudi Arabian style Government Press building (Mudranalay) - Persian Style Victoria Market - British Architect Gorkhi Entrance Gate - Rajput and Mughal Style Heritage Post Office - Italian Architect Heritage State Bank - Roman Architect SBI ATM Building - French Style The Maharaj bada is also known as Lashkar in Gwalior, initially, it was the capital of Scindia dynasty as well as it was the capital of central India (Madhya Bharat) from 1950 to 1956. the place is highly rich by the royal heritage of Gwalior. The word Laskar come from the Persian language which means "Army or camp". As the Mughals and then the Marathas ruled for the longest time span and also the Britishers ruled for a very short time period in the Gwalior, so the significance of the Maratha's, Mughal's, and Britisher's can be seen at Maharaj bada in terms of architectural culture. This phenomenal grand square is surrounded by various heritage buildings like general post office, State bank of India, SBI ATM building, Town Hall, Government Press, Victoria Market , gorkhi . Buildings are constructed in different architectural style and this unequal feature makes Bada to stand out singular of all the squares of India centered with a well regarded Jiwaji Rao Scindia ji’s statute on grand white marble platform .The stunning white & red General post Office :- General post office indicates the presence of the pure Italian architecture of the Gwalior. Heritage State Bank:- State Bank of India, it represents the elegant British architecture in itself. the main architectural feature is the Arches which extended by a flat entablement a superstructure above columns resting on capitals and the lotus flowers located at the triumphal arches which showcase the peculiarities of the Indian architecture. Sbi Atm Building :- SBI ATM Building indicates the French architecture. The Victoria Market:- The Victoria market, the building was constructed to honor Queen Victoria, it showcases the English architecture with some features of indo-Islamic architectural work. Government Press Building (Mudranalay):- The government press building at Bada, initially it is considered that the building has the Persian architecture. Town Hall:- The lustrous Town hall also known as the opera house, it is located on the east of the Jiyaji Chowk. it manifests the gothic architectural style and key highlights are the pointed arches, finials, ribbed vaults and flying buttresses and is uncouth in Corinthian capitals and Luxurious foliage of Corinthian designs.
