Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway , Volunteer Video Winchcombe Station : Saturday 3rd May 2014 So today, the sun was out and it was a glorious day over the Cotswolds, and I was on duty at our picturesque Winchcombe Station. It was also a RED timetable day today, meaning 2 steam trains between Toddington, Winchcombe and Cheltenham Rcaecourse, and our DMU running a shuttle between Winchcombe, Toddington and Laverton. Running today with our DMU was our Great Western Prairie Tank no.5542 and Great Western mixed traffic loco 7820 "Dinmore Manor". The first few clips are taken just south of the station before the entrance to our famous 693 yard Greet Tunnel. The first clip sees 5542 approach the station with the "Chocolate and Cream" set, becoming the 13:41 departure from Winchcombe to Toddington. The second clip sees "Dinmore Manor" departing Winchcombe with the 13:42 departure to Cheltenham Racecourse, building up steam and speed before disappearing into the tunnel. The third clip sees us back on platform 1, and our 3 car Class 117 DMU arriving into the station from Toddington, before shortly departing again with the 15:20 service back to Toddington and then onto Laverton.
