The Fibonacci Engine-2 (FE-2) shown in the video was designed as a prototype for testing purposes. The gauges shown in the video, from left to right, include: Flow Meter; Temperature Meter, showing readings both at the Inlet & Exhaust (two channels); above the Temperature meter, a simple Prony Brake Test device, used to measure Torque; directly to the right of the Temperature meter, an RPM meter; and then Pressure gauges connected to both the Inlet & Exhaust, located directly above the Engine. Compressed air was used for these test runs, and the background noise in the video was caused by the compressor. The Engine will run very quietly using an external combustion burner, configured as a closed loop steam (Rankine-Brayton heat cycle) powered system. Clean coal, propane, natural gas, etc, can be used in the external combustion burner. The System can also utilize solar heat energy, and even 'waste heat'. The test results provided the data required to greatly improve the over-all design of the FE-2. The current design (FE-4) incorporates the improvements gleaned from the test runs done in 2006.
