Climbing the Mohawk Mountains Highpoint - Tacna, AZ

The Mohawk Mountains Highpoint is one of the Arizona 2000 ft. prominence peaks, and is located southeast of the little town of Tacna, on the Barry Goldwater Range. The Range requires a permit, which you can get on bmgr.recaccess.com. The dirt road drive was great for the first half, and then when we turned south on Mohawk-Papago Wells Rd. it got a little rougher, but was still pretty good, and much better than recent drives we've been on. You still probably need high clearance, and maybe 4WD for some of the sandy areas, for the second half of the drive. I had a fall on this hike, but despite the injuries we were able to summit the peak. It was a good reminder for me to slow down, and I'm blessed that things weren't worse due to how hard it seemed like I hit.
