Watch this adorable moment as two rehabilitated sea lions return to their ocean home! Wren and Hue were both rescued in May, just a few days apart, and spent their rehabilitation journeys together. Wren was malnourished and had a bit of swelling on his jaw. Hue was also malnourished and likely bitten by a shark. After receiving lifesaving care from our expert team at MMCC and your generous support, they both gained a healthy amount of weight and were ready to return home. When their crate doors opened for release, Wren and Hue did not immediately run toward the water. This hesitancy happens sometimes, but we never rush our patients out. After acclimating to the sights and smells of their home, both patients ran back into their ocean home and were spotted porpoising in the waves together. Learn more and donate at marinemammalcare.org!
