The custodial parent can move if there's a child custody order in place, but there are requirements that need to be followed if the move is farther than 75 miles or longer than 60 days. The custodial parent would need to provide notice to every other person who is entitled to custody or visitation rights, and the notice needs to include certain information, such as the specific reasons for the proposed relocation and a proposal for a new visitation schedule. The other party has 30 days to object to the relocation. Need An Attorney?
